Hosting Special Events at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet

The beautifully restored Rhodes on the Pawtuxet offers a perfect setting for all of your special event needs! Our versatile space is adaptable to suit the most intimate of gatherings to a spectacular large-scale celebration. Boasting 10,000 square feet of original hardwood floors, 21′ ceilings with unobstructed views, and plentiful complimentary off-street parking (540 parking spaces are available), this beautiful venue is available year-round. Rhodes on the Pawtuxet is pleased to offer Ralph’s Catering as their exclusive wedding and special occasion caterer. Boasting over thirty years as a top-rated caterer, Ralph’s Catering is fully licensed, and owner-operated, specializing in custom wedding, corporate, and social menus.

The meal is designed by you, with the guidance of a professional and experienced team. We will ensure that all aspects of your dining experience are as you always envisioned them. All menu items are prepared on-site, ensuring that your guests enjoy fresh, hot, delicious food that will exceed your expectations.

Bartenders are included in all venue fees, with the ratio of 1 bartender per 100 guests accommodated. Additional bartenders or cocktail staff may be requested, for an additional shift fee of $75.00 per staff member. The well-stocked bar may be run on a cash bar basis, host (open) bar basis, or any combination of the two.

Coatroom attendants are available with advance notice, and a fee of $75.00 (per attendant) will be charged. The coatroom has been recently renovated, and is located conveniently in the foyer. In addition, the restrooms have been updated and are located in this area as well.

The Venue Rental includes the use of our standard banquet chairs, table inventory (12 – 72” rounds, 80 – 60” rounds, and 10 – 8’ banquets are available. Additional tables / specific table sizes may be rented at client’s expense), LAP-LENGTH linens (white or ivory, with a matching napkin), as well as the basic set-up and breakdown for your event. Specialty rentals (upgraded linens, chairs, etc., may be rented at the client’s expense.) Bartending staff will be provided by Rhodes on the Pawtuxet at no additional charge (1 Bartender per every 100 Guests is required. ADDITIONAL Bartenders, and / or Cocktail Staff may be secured for $75.00 per Bartender – ADVANCE NOTICE IS REQUIRED.) Venue Fees are subject to a 21% House Fee, and 7% RI State Sales Tax. The House Fee is utilized by the venue to cover operating expenses related to your function. It does not represent a gratuity or service charge for employees.

This beloved historical landmark is nestled in the charming Pawtuxet area of Cranston, Rhode Island, and is conveniently located near T. F. Green Airport, all major highways, and a variety of lodging options (hotels, motels, & B & B’s) as well.

Rental Rates vary depending on your needs for the space, so please contact a representative for an exact quote.  All rentals include use of our in house table and chair inventory and complimentary onsite parking.

Events must end no later than midnight. All bar services must cease at least a half hour prior to the actual event end time.

Events booked are tentative until the responsible party submits the required deposit and signed contract. If the responsible party cancels the event: deposits are non-refundable but may be applied to a new available date within a twelve-month period.

Additional hours may be purchased for $250.00 per each additional hour (subject to a 21% house fee, and 7% Rhode Island State Sales Tax). Some restrictions do apply.

The Town of Cranston requires that Police and Fire Detail be onsite for social events.  The number of detail is based on your guest count and the expense will be billed to the client.

RHODES ON THE PAWTUXET is a beloved Rhode Island landmark and is over one hundred years old. This beautiful building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We strive to ensure that this building, and its property, continue to be treated with the utmost care and respect. We respectfully request that you, your guests, invitees, and any third-party vendors you hire do the same. The original wood floors need to be carefully maintained, and we ask any carts / dollies that are used for the set-up / breakdown portions of the event have soft rubber wheels to prevent scratches.

  • CANDLES: Candles MUST be enclosed in glass candleholders or other approved containers.
  • ROSE PETALS: May be used for Wedding Ceremonies only.
  • HELIUM BALLOONS and SMOKE / FOG / DRY ICE MACHINES: May NOT be used under any circumstances, due to very sensitive sprinkler and alarm systems.
  • TAPE: Gaffers Tape is the only approved tape that may be used on the floors, walls, or doors.
  • DRAPERY / PIPE & DRAPE: Must be professionally installed and marked “NON-FLAMMABLE”.
